It all started with an error saying that something went wrong with a files root certificate. To try and fix the problem I went to Google and found some steps to fix...... The problem step 1: Uninstall Zonealarm but no it gave an error every time I wanted to uninstall so I used a program called revuninstaller to try and force it off..... bad idea It removed some parts but not others. So i try to Delete in safe mode under Admin.... Access is denied?
No matter what I try it just wont go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some one for the love of god help me remove Zonealarm!!!!!!:cry

Hi, I'm presuming your screenie was taken once ZA was reinstalled and step 2,3 & 4 were tried out :(

If not please try reinstalling ZA as mentioned earlier and clean up.

3 - Please list your other security software - ex. - anti-spyware: Webroot SpySweeper, PCTools SpywareDoctor, ThreatFire, CounterSpy, Windows Defender, Spybot Search & Destroy, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, etc.= these should be 'temporarily' shut-off/ shut-down prior to installing ZA. (On rare occasions - "certain" security software may need to be un-installed first, before installing ZA ).
Please list your anti-virus, monitoring/performance software - system mechanics, norton utilties/ backups, etc

    The above from ZA forums..

This conflict continues even when you try to uninstall ZA :(

The only other solution I can direct you to is..

    http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc...?sc=7&sf=101133&documentid=344896&action=view

Go to step 1. No need in downloading the latest trial version.

Hope this sorts out the issue :)

    Cheers...

    Hi OMGFFS,

ZA may have a service running.

go to safe mode/control panel/administrative tools/services and disable if found.

*Windows Certificate Manager can be accessed at Start/Run type in certmgr.msc and click ok.

Here's a fix that worked for me.
Running Win98se 4.10.2222 and ZA 6.1.737.000,only needed to replace vsinit.dll with a newer unexpired version. I went to
    http://www.oldapps.com/zonealarm.php?old_zalarm=27
and downloaded ver 7.0.483.000. Extracted vsinit.dll
with WinRar. Shut down ZA from the tray and replaced
    C:\windows\system\vsinit.dll with the extracted
version. Restarted ZA and works normally. I tested this with vsinit.dll vers 6.5.737.000. 7.0.337.000,7.0.462.000 and 7.0.483.000. All seem to work OK
but suspect older versions will expire sooner???
You may have to go to msconfig and untick TrueVector
and Zone Labs Client and reboot if order to replace
    vsinit.dll with the newer version
