I have been wanting to say something to you and can not find a way to do so other then right out in front of God and everybody.

You made a comment before about how your daughter didn't drink due to the example you projected while she was growing up.

I just wanted to tell you you can have a negative affect even if you supposedly do it all right.

My mother was a violent physical person (not with me) in her relationships. I wasn't with her very often, my grandparents raised me but when I was I was absolutely traumatized with the violence that went on.
I swore I would never put my children through something like that. So when I had children and an argument arose I normally backed off like a whipped puppy. If my husband started to raise his voice I would walk away.
As it turns out my children (mainly the girls) were so taken back by that they became almost unyielding in their relationships. Almost hell they (one in particular) do not know the word compromise.
So no one way is right, no one person is perfect. Don't beat yourself up.

 

Darlene i stand before god a sinner who has tried to reform,it's not for me to say if it was a success but i have done my best.

i can not make any excuses for my behavior only to say the stress of building/running a business it seemed to help me relax having a drink but as has been said in earlier posts i let it get out of control.

i am now a very calm person and very rarely get upset i have learned that the answer does not lie in a bottle?i am now on very strong meds for the pain (i hate them) but can not live without them so i just have to accept it.

If anyone wants to make a comment or ask a question about my addiction they are welcome and i will never be offended.

As for Karen (my daughter) i am very proud of her achievements but you are right Darlene at times she can be very uncompromising (bloody stubborn) but if that is her only fault i will be happy.
