Those who go back to 3dfiles and Tweakfiles with us know Billy well, at least online. NO ONE had his unique sense of humor that translated so well in an online news site. Billy always plugged our sites back then and helped to build it into the huge website it was. Many tried to copy him, but just looked pathetic. Gaming news will simply never be the same. Ever.

Details as to why he passed are not known.

wow.. I used to love going to VE just to see what kind of crazy stuff he would say about a game. He was basically the only reason I went there. I recall how tight 3dfiles was with VE as well.
    Rest in peace Wicked..

It should, he was around before most of us... He led the gaming industry and spun off a lot of wanna be gaming sites you probably still visit today, though more corporate and watered down by now, something you would not find on his website. He had a daily "blah" that was always funny, posted news with humor and attitude and was famous for lines like "I was only trying to help that sheep across the fence". The front taglines you see on our page was based off his funny sayings. He also was the old school kind of guy who was glad to link to any website he thought had something interesting. He did that many times for 3dfiles (originally 3dfxmania) and helped us build our traffic that way. These thing do not sound cutting edge, but the internet was different back in 1997, so the things he did were cutting edge and brilliant in their own way. If you read the threads at any of the sites out there relating to his passing, you will see comment after comment from people who are in the business who either dealt with, or were influenced, by him.

It was a very sad day for me and still is today, no one is perfect, but at the end of the day, I respected him for what he accomplished, the ideas we got from him and for making me laugh. A day never went by when VoodooExtreme was going that I did not wish for half of his ability to be so funny every day.

Wow! No more Billy! :( I remember his game reviews well in the old Voodoo heydays. His sharp humour and attitude always made me laff. He was a one of a kind sort of dude. He helped make many of the forums what they are today.

And to die so young. That's just tragic, man! :(

My deepest condolences to the surviving family members.

    R.I.P. "Wicked".
