Biometric Quick Launch

Last year I purchased an HP laptop running Windows 7 with SimplePass installed on it. Due to problems with a keylogger on an old machine, I use my biometric scanner for pretty much everything. This morning, after rebooting my system to finish a malware clean up, I noticed that the Quick Launch login was not working. I've tried multiple websites (including Facebook which normally pops up the moment the page loads, and here) and my "Scan an enrolled finger to log into this website" popup is not showing up. I've checked my biometric device settings and nothing has changed. To be certain, I cleared all settings and reset it to default. Still, nothing. I'm not sure if it was something during my malware clean up that possibly messed something up, or if the malware I was infected with somehow disabled it.

Please note: My scanner does work. I can log into Windows and open up specified websites using my scanner, I just cannot log into websites like I normally can.

Could anyone shed some light on this? It's a result of paranoia, but I really hate typing in passwords.

 

Can you delete your fingerprint and add it again to the program along with your login data. It also says the program may stop functioning if you update a browser. If you are using a browser other than IE, try deleting and reinstalling after saving all of your addons and bookmarks. Does this affect all your browsers if you have more than one?

I did just update IE so that could be it. I'll try deleteing and reinstalling SimplePass.
I'm not using any other browsers currently.

 

Ok! Uninstalled SimplePass and installed the newer version. Everything is running fine! Thanks for that!!

Also installed Chrome. Looks like everything is responding fine, there, too!
