Hi, bought a laptop from Salvation army to my dismay. Laptop boots with a Bios password.
    Toshiba Model: Satelitte Radius P55W-B5112
The Bios password UI is different than most Toshibas. Entering 3 incorrect passwords does NOT generate a hash error. It instead simply crashes.
I have tried some generic Toshiba passwords of old "Toshy99" ect, 4 spaces, ect.
    ------
Instead i looked for a jumper to short out but can not seem to locate one. I've scoured the internet with no luck.
-There is no "G1 G2 G3" or JCOP listings or anything.
-There is no components under the ram. Just smooth board.
-There is no visible watch battery.
-i have tried the very small "1,2,3" components near the power.
There is 3 triangles under the protectant that reminds me of some Toshiba boosters. But they are not labeled or clustered. Not sure about those.
    -----------
I have also tried booting into the Bios menu with no luck. I have booted using every button combination i can think of, including all Toshiba combinations.
While booting (esc, F1-12, Del, Enter. There is a FN key. And ive used it with most the F keys.
The NUM lock DOES auto come on during boot. Not sure if thats interfering with Fkeys.
I'd appreciate any help. If you locate jumpers please point then out. Images posted below.

Thanks, but those don't seem to relate to my specific model. I cant find a Cmos battery, and i can't find the jumpers either as one of the answers are referring to. I have no idea what the "Stereo wire harness looking thing" is reffering to on my specific board. I've posted pictures if you'd be willing to point any of these things out on the board. Maby im blind.

Otherwise, if you know where i might find a scematic PDF file of the board i could use that to locate jumpere, if this particular model has them.

Please do not disrespect TimW, - Any help here is freely given, and all we ask is that you treat us as you would like us to treat you. Sometimes a link might not be helpful- all you need to say, is you have tried that one. Posting on more than one forum is likely to get you the connection, as TimW did, because we will use our own knowledge, or, search for answers, if we have to- nobody knows it all.
Now, I have located an owners manual, in case you do not have one-its free (you can download ,probably only a page at a time- It might be useful- might not.

I see you have tried many ways, and understand your frustration- Patience can get thin, but you just have to keep trying and looking.
The spot you were talking bout under the ram used to be something like a square/scroll with a dot in the middle to short out to earth-I used to earth that one to the post of the ram. If I can find a picture of it, I will come back with it, but it's so long ago, that --who knows.
Other bios codes as you know are manufacturer individual, like Phoenix.
If you can find the cmos battery, and de-solder, and resolder, you might get lucky-I believe these are still soldered in Toshiba- unlike the easy pug in type like Dell and others have.
Ideally I usually try to find a workshop manual, rather than an owners manual- I will see if I can find one.

Although you have stripped it down to a point, This might help a little -I am still looking for cmos battery- if you can find it before I do, then let us know. I will try to enlarge the pictures from this strip-down to see if I can find it.

I do see from this that the ram is on a plain panel, as you said. When I have worked on TOSHIBA'S, I have remembered that on some there are two soldered spots to short out near the ram- I will have to look for something on that- as I remember these were not as apparent as suggested at the time.

Thanks for your interest in my little project here. Toshiba doesn't offer support for this issue. If you read in the manual they state if you lose your password they consider the laptop to be permanantly inoperable.

I've tried 12345 with no luck.
I've tried F2 and F12 before, during, and after imputting a 3rd password to generate the hash.

I have not found a CMOS battery anywhere. I've heard some CMOS batteries are repaced with EEPROMs. I'm not familiar with those and i don't have the tool to read one. (Though i definitely want one now)

I do see two dots next to the ram but they don't stand out as jumpers to me. They're to the right side of the ram imputs pictured below.

Without a manufacturer manuel/schematic i may have to try the boot+password cracker suggested at a later time.

If you do see that jumper or stumble across a schemy for this model do let me know. I'd appreciate it!

PS. I do actually respect Tim alot. He helped me numerous times as a 16yo kid as i learned about malware development and removal. I've been doing non-profit maleware removal for locals ever since, specifically because of the help i recieved from Tim. There are really no reputable repairmen in my location, one of which ive had 5 different 80~ yo ladies tell me they were charged $10,000 for there laptops to be upgraded to windows 10.

Repair isn't my dayjob though so im not super familiar hardware other than basics.

Majorgeeks has always been a big inspiration for the free work i do for the elderly.

What is the board manufacturer? Can you tell?

    Fn 12341234 enter

    TinW suggestion worth a try.....
    Or,
From what I gather, the BIOS reset could be with the middle pair of the JRST2002 , if you can find it- On another post, the motherboard was a bit different, but same model number as yours, where that JRST2002 block is just by the fan plug on the motherboard- Otherwise you may have to remove motherboard and turn it over to spot the EPROM- Then turn it back over to see if it makes sense to where some solder spots are, to attempt to short them out.
I have not managed to find schematics for it, yet - but I did find a little bug that tried to grab my computer (A well known problem when hunting for a difficult answer to computer problems- cost me a good 5 minutes to get rid of.
    Anyway, I hope this helps.
