    98% that
you need a new battery there about 5 bucks at your local Meaga Mart
take the old one with you to make u sure u get the right one
After installing the new battery U may need to run the Bios HDD setup tools and reset any custom setting that you may have changed

2% that it Could be that the bios Rom is corrupt Thats very Rare tho try a new battery and let me know how it go's

If the power is turned off at the psu or unplugged from the wall the bios loses its memory when the battery is dead, as long as the electric dont go off and the pc is still plugged in, it retains its memory. ed

Battery is type CR2032 coin cell.

Located between the ends of PCi slots 3 and 4

Make sure you note which way up the battery is before you take the old one out.

Have you reset the bios to defaults and rebooted?

If this cures the problem you can then re- enter the bios and change the settings to suit your installation.

If this does not cure it you need to download the bios from Asus and reflash it. I would consider downloading several versions from yours to the latest as the latest is not always suitable.

Yes set bios to defaults and rebooted, it still happens every now and then not every time.
