bios

    i am running dual boot machine. ME came sony preinstalled on drive C. I am running xp pro on D. Sony has a bios update for xp at its support website. should i be upgrading to this or does drive C control the action. thanks

    Your bios is separte from your Hard Drive. If the BIOS update affects the operation of some part of XP, depending on the severity of the problem, you might consider updating it.

    WARNING/DISCLAIMER: Updating the bios improperly can cause your machine to stop working completely ... back up your important data first.

    the bios is not controlled by any drive it is firmware so the update should not affect either drive. however check the documaentation on the updtae and see if there is anything to indicate a problem with dual boot or win 2k for that particular bios update
