my computer only reconizes my hd as secondary master i have tried all different cbale and jumper settings how to i get it too boot off my hd being secondary master

 

If it is possible, then it is something you need to change in BIOS.

My suggestion would be to move the HDD-cable to the other IDE-port on the motherboard so it becomes Primary-Master.

What Motherboard do you have ?

 

no can do it wont read it on primary i got asus a7m266

 

i finally got hd to primary master however it wont load windows it just stops after the post what should i do

 

Get a bootdisk and check with Fdisk that the HDD contains partitions, if so then check that the Primary-Partition is Active and check that you can access C:-DriveLetter.

What version of Windows ?

 

i got windows xp pro
