Nooo..it's not what you think! Haha...it's a hotline website for owners of lost exotic birds to use to try and track their lost Tweetie! I was amazed...the site is just literally full of postings about lost birds. It's strange that people in Florida, especially, don't see an exotic bird every 5 minutes, the amount that have escaped! Star? Abby? Any there?

Anyway, I've owned some myself over the years and have every sympathy for when they go missing; don't get me wrong. But some of these postings were just funny, so here goes. Italics is my comment....

Rosey,is a male……..good grief, no wonder he flew away!

Lost male cinnamon cockatiel and goes by the name of Sophie……introduce him to Rosie above.

    Excellent flyer…of course! It’s a freakin’ bird!

Jojo is standard variety Congo African Grey who caught a gust of wind on Sunday March 6th,. got carried away…….sorry, but the image of how of this made me giggle. :D

He really enjoys people and wanted to be in the same room as his family at all times….just not the day he flew away, right?

He whistles the Andy Griffith theme song, Indiana Jones theme song, some of "Jesus Loves Me", as well as other common bird whistles…….Jesus Loves Me is a common bird whistle?

Sammie was left inside my home at <address cut> along with a peach front conure(Boogie) and 3 dogs….dog ate bird…problem solved!

Some stress marks at end of tail.…..might be a clue as to why he flew away if he was showing signs of stress

Can mimic, will say his name, will say "Chirp Chirp,"……uhhh…isn’t that what birds do?

She is gray with a bright red tail and whistles "Summertime" quite well. She also can meow like a cat…….so watch out for any cats disguised as birds in your neighborhood!

Jessie flew away. Can whistle " if I only had a brain "…then she wouldn’t have flown away?

My grandson is realy upset because he let them out of the cage and open the car door…..maybe he should learn to whistle the same tune as Jessie above.

Please help!!! Lost African Grey name is Chicken has a big vocabulary and lots of phone rings microwave sounds……beware!!! Bird on loose with MPD!

I lost 2 Quakers when I stop to get gas….check your local meeting house..they’re probably there!

She especially likes to imitate the garbage truck backing down the street……so next time you hear one and can’t see one….look up!..carefully ;)

thx for the laugh again lev,
my grandmother (one of my 5((don't even ask)))
used to leave her ceiling fans on low and let her
cockatiels zoom around on it. it was a little disconcerting
    above the dinner table...

Oh dear...seems I've missed more threads in the lounge than I thought...have been kept occupied in other forums...click - click - delete - (many times over for the same members) - click - click - you're outta here!:D

This is truly hysterical Lev...have seen similar sites and they always crack me up...same with the classifieds in e newspaper...those can be extremely entertaining..LMAO

Sadly, I haven't seen any of the fly away birds:( BUT! I can tell you that FL has an ever increasing population of non-native birds who have escaped their cages and are now beautiful flocks that live together.:) I always worry though when I read about them because they are domesticated but I would imagine instincts take over so they are able to survive.

The newspaper classifieds are hilarious. I still have one I cut out years ago. I was going through the toys adverts trying to find some cheap Christams gifts for my young son at the time. It said....

"Rocking horse sh!t 3-5 years old"

I think it meant to say "suit 3-5 years old", but who knows...that stuff is pretty rare! lol

Most of our birds in the past have bee strays that have obviously been someone else's pets that have 'adopted' us. The list includes: two Pink an Grey Galahs; a Wiero (Cockatiel); a Carrier Pigeon, complete with ring (Lol!); a Twenty Eight, and a Parakeet(Budgerigar). We had an aviary out the side of our old place that seemed to be a magnet for escapee birdies.
