    Ok so simply put it's my birthday soon & I shall be coming into some money :-D

    I am garentee'd at least £150/$246.54 at todays exchange, so I have a choice of hardware to pick from. I have 2 weak parts in my rig the motherboard & the CPU, the rest is good stuff :) Thats what happens when you build/upgrade over time LOL

    So if I go for a CPU exchange I would be going from an AMD Phenom X4 9750 2.4GHz: http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=397, which is quite simply rubbish & a massive let down. I would be getting an AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0GHz Black Edition: http://products.amd.com/en-us/Deskt...09&f1=&f2=&f3=&f4=&f5=&f6=&f7=&f8=&f9=&f10=No, I can get this 940BE for £164.99/$271.18 as I said before minimum budget was £150/$246.54 :-D

    Or if I go for a motherboard upgrade I have much more choice at the price range I have :), I currently have an ASUS M3A: http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=149&l3=592&l4=0&model=1934&modelmenu=1, which was great to start with as I had a dual core & it supports quad cores like I have now =D but I need a better chipset for my 4870 like the 790GX/FX & i'd like the option to crossfire 2 4870's :)

    I have a choce of these mobo's which match my price & needs:

    * MSI K9A2 Platinum for £94.87/$155.93 no P&P: http://uk.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1332&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=171

    *ASUS M4A97 Deluxe for £141.39/$232.12 no P&P: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=F8NXs2xIQloc5nrb&templete=2

    *Sapphire AMD PC-AM2RS790GX for £98.32/$161.41 no P&P: http://www1.sapphiretech.com/us/products/products_overview.php?gpid=276&grp=6

    My question is this after taking a look at the specs of all of them, which motherboard would you buy?

    I don't know which I will be getting yet, but I feel I should snap up that Phenom II 940 BE before the shop that has them stops selling the BE ver :confused

    I found a forum post that states as a matter of fact that the Phenom II 940 BE does in fact work with the ASUS M3A that I have as long as I have the newest 1102BETA BIOS which I have :) :http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?p=1340995#post1340995

    I guess I sort of answered my own question there LOL, but I have spent ages on this post. I suppose if I get the CPU now then that rules out the ASUS board and it's between the MSI & Sapphire boards simply because I will be on a shoe string most likely LOL

    Which one do you guys theink would suit my 940 BE, (Sapphire) 4870 1GB & 4GB Kingston Hyper X 1066Mhz?

    Hope that all makes sence I am tired :zzz
    Thanks for any insight you guys can offer :cool

    Oh I do hate double posting but upon re-reading that last post it's... jibberish LOL

    I was tired & rambling on W-A-Y to much. Basically I am going to get the Phenom II 940 Black Edition & I know that it will work on my current motherboard. The question is "IF" I have some money leaft over to get a better mobo which should I get out of the MSI K9A2 Platinum & the Sapphire AMD PC-AM2RS790GX?

    Sapphire: http://www1.sapphiretech.com/uk/products/products_overview.php?gpid=276&pid=g&grp=6

    Again sorry for rambling on :-D
