I stupidly deleted my audio program, Realtek AC97 or something like that. It was loaded using a disc. My real problem is that my disc drive does not work so i know of no way of loading any audio.

I turn speakers on and nothing. Been through all the help files on the net and it seems apparent i need to install audio components.

All i really remember what i had was realtek AC97 and Sound"something".

Is there anyway i can use a file off the net? Remember i'm unable to use my disc drive as it's broken.

    Hope this makes sense.:confused

Thanks for reply, however when i'm three quarters through installing the driver, my PC crashes. On reboot, it's apparent a mini dump has occured. This is what seemingly crashes it. Still no sound/volume:cry.

If it helps, i now recall having something like "Soundmax"

firstly,do you uninstall the old driver, then install the new one.
BTW,give me info about your computer:Motherboard.
