My friend has a BJ-230 Printer.
The computer reconizez it but when he tries to print, it does not do anything.
    New Cartridge, New Paper.
    What could this be?

The Canon BJ-230 printer has native driver support in WinXP.

    What does that mean?
I told him to go update the drivers but he got a error.
    Hes re-installing the software again.

Native support means Windows has drivers for the printer built in-- a driver disk is not necessary. The native driver is supposedly not as functional as the one that came with the printer, but then XP wasn't around when that model was for sale, and Canon never developed a full-featured driver set for it.
