Black Screen - flashing cursor

    My system will not boot up. It starts out at the "blue" screen giving just 3 options - ESC / Boot, F1 / Setup, F10 / Recovery - it does not give an option for safe mode ?After about 10 seconds it switches to a black screen with the cursur flashing in the upper right corner, it will not let you type anything. If you hit F10 / Recovery it switches to the same black screen. The other 2 options seem to boot up as normal. My son left a USB cord plugged in after charging his IPod, not sur if that had anything to do with it ?

    Check to make sure he didn't leave a disk in the CDROM.

    Thanks, no CD ROM but there was a memory card loaded. That took care of the problem
