On my i have startup type, log on as.. :confused

On black viper there is like 10 different things for one service... im confused...:cry

The Default Column for your Operating System is the 'Startup Type' for that process on a fresh, unaltered install of Windows of the same type.

The 'Safe' column is the recommended setting for a new user.

The 'Power User' column is the recommended setting for a user comfortable enough to re-enable a service should it be needed later

The 'Barebones' column is a recommendation for best performance, but will likely cause a loss of functionality for a user that's unable to figure out what services he'll need in the future.

This concerns ONLY your 'Startup Type'. Stay away from 'Log On As' until you are comfortable.

 

Im just so sick n tire of this ****in laptop!!!!!!!!! SOoooo BS.

I mean it can shutdown like 1-2 times aday from simply running to many youtube videos...
Or watching/loading a stream movie. JavaGames on yahoo? or anywhere forget it about..
My CPU is so damn sensitive it drives me ****in nuts.

Ill have FIREFOX open. 2 webpage tabs n a 3rd on you tube n ill be loading/watching a video n my cpu is 97-100% GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I dunno what to do? Im thinkin my only resolve is getting one of those Laptop underfan stands? The ones with 3 fans built in where u put the laptop on top?

I can see how more ram will resolve this issue...

 

Um it was helpful. I guess it narrowed down which section to use. But Im still unwilling to push along with it because it doesn't seem like the most effective list on there. "Safe that is"

My purpose is mainly for my rant below... Im sick of random shutdowns due to general web use. Youtube videos games etc...

AlwaysInfected, you system specs really aren't up to snuff for a speedy XP system. You won't get too far, even following the most aggressive settings here.

Have you ever tried reinstalling the apps that pin your processor? That would indicate a application problem to me, which won't fix itself with speed tweaks.

 

You think a bunch of just happened to be incorrectly installed apps are making my cpu shoot through the roof? rolleyes

 

Not incorrectly installed, per se, but there may be a corrupted dependency, or some common dependency that got overwritten to a older version, or something silly.

Its not normal in my experience for Java or Flash (the apps you seem most concerned with) to be taking up that much of your CPU time when they're working correctly.

 

Na this is def not the issue...

I never had this issue on a PC, Im on a laptop about 4 years old with 456mb of ram at god knows how many mbs.

I can hear the fan kick in fast when i use certain things etc...
