Blank screen only thing showing is my background

All my desktops and the the little bar at the bottom are gone and all i can see is my desktop

how do i get everything back

 

Try accessing the task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del), when it opens, click 'File' at the top; click 'New task (Run)', in the box that opens, type explorer.exe and press Enter. If that doesn't work, look through the list under the 'Processes' tab for anything using up a large amount of CPU resources and terminate the process. You can't really hurt anything; the worst that will happen is the PC will reboot. If that doesn't work, restart the PC and press F8 right after the PC starts up to get to the Windows Boot Options menu; select "Last Known Good Configuration" and let it start it up. If that doesn't work, restart again and press F8 again, then try starting up with the "Safe Mode" option. If that gets you to the desktop, use System Restore (click Start, click Run, and type %SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe and press Enter; -OR- click Start > All Programs > Accesories > System Tools > System Restore). Use System Restore to 'roll back' your PC a few days. Hopefully that will fix it.
