Blast From The Past.

As many of you know, I love guns. Handguns, rifles, shotguns... Love them. Got my old Marlin 30-30 up and ready to shoot. Found out, this sucker was made in 1949... Will add some picts later.

This gun, and a bunch of odd tools was given to me when my Grandfather died, long ago. I have, at some point, used almost every tool, and now, I plan on refinishing the wood on this gun, and will get a scope mounted on it.

Will make for a fun 100 to 150 yard paper puncher. :-D

 

Hey, Fred, I have a Marlin 30/30 too. My most favorite! Mine was my husband's very first gun. I have a scope on it, and never missed. I hunted deer and bear with it. Darn good gun, and when you refinish the stock, it will be sharp! Yes, I'd like to see pix. Congrats!

Finally found my camera's battery charger... :-D I thought this pict looked pretty good. The fore end is original, and is a lot darker due to age/dirt. I think it will look much better when refinished. Just have to decide what method of refinishing I want to try.

Dang, I need to find better software for editing photos...

 

Oh, Fred, that is a beauty! Just take your time, now, don't rush into it:-D It looks to be in real good shape, and it has character! You put a scope on that puppy, and you will hit what you aim at. I have bagged countless bucks with mine, and also 2 black bear. One shot each. ( I don't like to waste bullets! LOL) I'll take a pic of mine sometime, and post it. My husband bought it when he was a kid. :cool You have a nice hobby, Fred!
