    Hi,

Just got a new HP laptop today, and the sales guy babbled on about being careful when removing bloatware or it could screw up the os. Is there any truth in what he said? The machine is an HP Pavilion dv6500 series, running Vista home premium. I'd like to start it off right by getting rid of all the junk in such a way that it all gets totally removed without damaging anything else.

Any tips on the right way to proceed with that?

    thanks a bunch,
    susan

    Hi slascaux!
    Welcome to MajorGeeks!

This is a software question so I will ask that your thread be moved to the software forum. Anytime you remove software, it's helpful to go about it the right way. There's a special tool for removing bloatware from Dell machines. It's possible there's one for HP too.
