Bloatware Woes

Android Tablet about a year old.

As is the same with many of you, I'm sure. I want to be rid of about 60% of the pre-installed software that comes on the tablet. Don't use any of it. Of course you can't get rid of it without rooting the tablet. And naturally there are all sorts of wild threats that the system may not work if you remove the pre-installed software.

What is the consensus here, those of you who have done this rooting or know a lot about tablets, is it just threatscare or is there a real possibility of instability?

If there is another way around the problem, I'd sure like to hear about it. Disabling it still takes up huge space on the drive. Its at the point I am having trouble updating the applications I do use, because there "isn't enough space"

You can disable many many apps easily. For your particular tablet brand/model, do a simple internet search.
If the tablet is out of warranty, you can remove many if you ROOT it.

I own 2 Android tablets: ASUS and Samsung. The ASUS came with things ASUS put on so I force stopped, disabled and cleared the data so only a tiny bit remains of the unwanted apps.

Samsung was a lot nicer. They didn't install a lot of unneeded things on the tablet.

I'm fortunate that both tablets have 16GB of internal storage and a microsd slot for my files. I have about 50% of internal storage still left to use.

What is the brand and model of you android tablet? I like to see if there is a manual.
