You, of all people, know that nothing is perfect. I would agree with you on your assessment of a computer fire alarm that might not work but do you have regular protection too? Heck, I've been running W7 nekked since the beta and never had an issue yet. Maybe fodder for SP1 eh? Anyways, it's not even available yet for a month except for students and the MSDN/Technet crowd.;)

    Nice to see you back.:)

Oh I know nothing is perfect, but I would expect something like this not to be an oversight. I doubt we would have people crying in their beers if a popup from Windows 7 action center said that you may been infected and run your security software?

Of course, being that it was a false positive, maybe MS should let the security software companies do their job instead of trying to do it for them. To date, I still do not know what problem it said I was having, that allegedly the trojan was the culprit.

As for it not being officially out yet, point taken. But I would be naive if I believe that MS is going to release a fix for this on October 22nd ;)

Ya :-D. Still, I'm blown away at all the drivers and 'Help' that it does have. W7 is a long ways away from XP's 'Help and Support'.;)

I love how its like "Are u sure you want to open Control Panel" but it hides the fact that u have a trojan.

I could not agree with you more. That is one of the parts of Vista that really bothers me... if nothing else because if the most common OS on the market also does the majority of software security, that means they have just made life MUCH easier for all the malware out there. Instead of a dozen very competent opponents they now have only one, and it's a very pretentious one that absolutely refuses to recognize its shortcomings and let the professionals take over.

Yeah, this makes me feel great about doing my online banking in 7... rolleyes

Now why, after stuffing Vista down everyone's throat ( not saying I have any problems with it at all.....) why couldn't they just update it with the more stable features of Windows 7??
