Blue background with cockroaches

ok so i'm a big noob
i just got my windows xp installed on my computer
and i have avast
so the problem is that everytime i turn on my computer my background changes into this blue screen with a yellow warning in the middle
then cockroaches crawl around the screen
talk about weird
a little searching and i discovered the background is called
ctfmonb
so i found someone with a similar problem on these forums
but honestly it was all too confusing for me
so i would appreciate it if anyone could give me step by step instructions to get rid of this.

I would be quite appreciative if you would make a screen shot of this "bug" eating your screen. Although we've fixed a number of people's computers with this, I haven't actually had a chance to look at the creature, and it interests me.

The instructions we make are specific to each person't computer, so it usually doesn't help you to try and follow the instructions for someone else and can cause damage to your computer.

To remove this bug, please go through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST and attach the logs. Usually, just working through these instructions will give you some relief from the symptoms. When we get the logs, we can see which files still remain on your computer that need to be removed. If you have questions as you're working on the instructions, just ask.

i installed malwarebytes
and now it works

I'm glad you were able to fix it. If you want further help, please attach the logs we requested. There's generally more than one piece of malware on a computer that got infected.
