    Last night my father ran a Deep scan with his BitDefender Program, this morning he went in to computer and has a solid blue screen, no Icons at all, No start Button and no task bars. The My Documents auto opens is all, Everything is in the computer still, all looks well just no shortcuts, nor am I capable of creating and dragging new to the desktop, any suggestions would be awesome Thank you in advance, Dawn;)
    PS he is running windows xp

    Can you boot into safe mode?? Can you control+alt+delete into the task manager?? Can you boot into a different user account?

    Is the other user account an administrator account? Can you download our scanning tools to that account.

    Hitting F8 should give you the choice to boot into safe mode with networking.

    Try doing as much of this as you can and attach the logs you get:

    ok will do, no the other account isnt set as an admin, I have full use of the computer still, nothing seems to be missing, just all short cuts are invalid and nothing at all on desktop but I can navigate to anything through the my documents page that seems to have replaced the desktop.

    If you can boot into safe mode, you should be able to change that user account to an Administrator account and run all the scans in normal mode within that user account.

    Good!! Then I suggest you go ahead and do all the scans as requested and attach these logs:
    SAS
    MBAM
    RootRepeal
    ComboFix
    C:\MGLogs.zip --> from running the C:\MGTools.exe
