Blue screen of death caused by Google Chrome

    Hello,

    Just recently I started using Google Chrome, which worked fine at first. However, if I try to use Google Chrome now, I get a blue screen of death after only a few minutes of browsing. This happens every time now. Here is one of the errors I got:

    STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF9568C8, 0xB94DAC00, 0x00000000)

    I did have a problem with a virus over the last couple of weeks, but now it's sorted and I'm pretty sure my computer is clean, so I don't think this BSOD is related to the virus. Also, Google Chrome already started doing this before I had the virus. Any idea what could cause this error?

    At the moment I am using Windows Internet Explorer, which has pretty much been my only browser for years. I only get blue screens while browsing with Google Chrome, on any website.
