    I have a Windows XP
    Pentium 4 HT

when starting up the computer i get a blue screen that says:

    *** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001-0203, 0x823D03D0, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)

I tried using f8 and running stuff in safe mode, but still got the same message.

    What to do?

Hello and welcome to MG .. your problem message STOP: 0x00000024 without the suffixes caused by several things according to Microsoft. I would use your XP Disc to perform a repair.

How do you perform a reinstallation of Windows XP, sometimes called a repair installation?

Configure your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive. For more information about how to do this, refer to your computer's documentation or contact your computer manufacturer. Then insert your Windows XP Setup CD, and restart your computer.

    1.
When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

    2.
Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.

    3.
Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.

    4.
In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.

    5.
Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.

    6.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

Good Luck and plz post back :)

Alright, I’m trying to reinstall Windows with the CD:

I’m using Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002
Put in the CD and turned on the computer.
On the DELL screen I press f12 and get to the “Boot Device Menu”
I press on the “Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive”
I get to the “Windows Setup” screen
After a minute of reading the CD, I get three options:
    Set up Windows XP now
Repair a Windows XP using Recovery Condole
    Quit setup without installing
I press Enter for “Set up Windows XP now”
Goes to a blue “Windows XP Home Edition Setup” screen

This is where it just stops and I can’t go any further.
I don’t hear the sound of it reading the CD and nothing is happening.
    Any ideas?

    Its not doing anything there.
Even pressing enter doesnt move me from the WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION SETUP

Following those instructions, i stop just short of the License Agreement.

=( alright, RECOVERY CONSOLE isn’t working so I think I’m going to try connecting the hard drive to another computer.

    But before I do that,

I was able to format a floppy disk for MS-DOS and I could get to a command prompt. Is this useful? If it is, here is a little more information:
I’m a little confused on how to run the 'CHKDSK'
Here are some commands that I tried:

    A:\>DIR
This gave the directory of the floppy drive

    A:\>CHKDSK
    A:\>chkdsk
This gave me “Bad command or file name”

    A:\>C:
    A:\>C:CHKDSK
    A:\>C:chkdsk
    Invalid drive specification

Is there any hope in the MS-DOS?
Or should I just go try the hard drive in another computer?

First you must alter the 'First Boot' to Floppy A like you did with the XP CD so when computer boots it wil read from floppy first. restart com with floppy in and when the command prompt comes up type against the A chkdsk /r notice the space after the K before the r . Been so long since I have used this procedure I hope I got it correct. Go here and DL a xpquick.exe or Windows ME OEM and burn to floppy. Then post back.
