Blue Screen of Death

Hi everyone. Got a prob and need some help. We bought my husbands laptop off ebay about a year ago. Its been fine. It didn't come with any software. Now when you try to load WIN XP PRO no matter how, (safe mode or anything else) you get the following message, "Stop:0X000000EDOX86FO19EO, OXC0000006, 0X00000000, UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME. I have tried everything in my known power to fix this. Can anyone please help me? Thanks.:cry

 

Oh almost forgot the OS is WIN XP PRO and it is a DELL LATITUDE D 610. TYVM

 

to clarify, it was running fine before, but now you're attempting to reinstall XP and cannot?

 

Can't install WIN XP PRO because I do not have the software. Just trying to get it the computer to load the OS so I can find out what to do about the blue screen caused by the error message. My husband told me it was working fine until he tried a uninstall a game called Medal of Honor that he bought and the computer froze and then he has had the error message and blue screen since. We have tried to boot in safe mode and still have the blue screen and error message.:confused

 

if you cant boot in any mode, including safe mode you are going to need a windows xp setup disk to get into the recovery console. Preferably xp pro, but, i think other versions will work. See if you can borrow one from a friend or relative.
