I've had my system for 3 years and have had no BSOD events happen until several weeks ago. These events are happening with increased frequency. I'm concerned that my hard drive could be going bad or something else significant could be happening. I have recorded the error codes associated with most of these events but haven't been able to find any info that tells me what they mean. Could you help me decipher them and give me your opinion about the status of my system? Here are those codes:

We need the full error screen to determine the issue. Perhaps a photograph with a digital camera?

Well, I've had a problem with that. Whenever these events happen the BSOD is displayed for less than 1/2 a second . . . then my PC reboots. Once it reboots the system advises that a serious error has occurred. There's a link to the event's error codes. These are what I posted here. I have not been able to view the BSOD, itself, long enough to capture any information.

Repeatedly press F8 on starup just after your BIOS loading has finished, just before the XP Scrolling dots screen. (I assume you have XP?) This should get you to a menu, where you can select "disable automatic restart on BSOD" (or similar). This will leave the BSOD on screen whenever the computer crashes for you to photograph/write down.

Thanks for the advice. I'll do this whenever I get another BSOD which, if history is a guide, should occur sometime in the next 6 hours or so.

I have attached screen shots as suggested for my blue screen of death events.

I had to get a cell phone with a camera, take photos of each of these events, figure out how to get them out of my cell phone and onto my PC and, FINALLY, how to post them here!! For me, that's an accomplishment . . . . but it took me more than a month to get it done.

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts about what would eliminate these systems failures? They are happening with greater frequency. Thanks for your feedback!

    Help with BSOD, please?

I'm getting the blue screen of death 4-5 times each day. I have no idea why. Attached are screen shots of them. Any suggestions about what I need to do to eliminate these? I'm actually not sure if this is a hardware, a malware or a software problem.

What is the error code (and module, if shown) on the BSOD?

Well I did forget to hit the photo "upload" button but, now that I did that, it appears that I already loaded these photos earlier this month on this thread:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=216455

This site won't let me reattach them here . . . . so please review them there and let me know what you think. I didn't get much to work with from my previous post and I have been unable to address the issue again until now. This is a new post related to the same BSOD problem.

I didn't see where you replied to the above post where plodr states to try a memory test to test the sticks in your computer unit, have you tested them?

    link as given by plodr:

Also, please note the Microsoft page showing possible reasons for the IRQ no less or equal error, one including faulty hardware (ie: memory). Let us know where you are in the trouble. cheers

    Re: Help with BSOD, please?

I downloaded and unzipped Memtest86 . . . . and burned it to a CD. I could not figure out where the application was on that CD, however. None of the files included in the download were application files as far as I can tell. I did execute the mt410.iso file, but this simply automates burning the CD. Am I doing something wrong or is there another memory test program I could try?

Do you have software to burn .iso images of a cd?
I didn't think any version of windows would know how to create an .iso image yet, I know XP can't without software.

Isobuster is a freeware to use for creating .iso cd's. Other's too...
You can create a floppy disc, I have used this and is super simple ;)
You can create a bootable USB too if your motherboard supports.

I used Nero Express Essentials to make the CD and it has 2 iso files on it now. If these are the executables on the CD all that they do is open Nero Express . . . . so that I can make another CD?

I'm not proficient with this type of issue. It's taken me forever to collect the error messages from the log. I did this, then was advised that I needed to get actual screen images of the BSOD. I did this, then was advised to run a memory test by downloading MEMtest86. I tried to run this now I'm still no further than I was on day one. Any idea how long this process will take if I am able to figure out how to run the memory test? At this point I'm just trying to diagnose the problem since I'm not sure whether I need to replace my hard drive, fix my software or do something else.

Pull all but one stick of memory from the PC and use it. Any BSOD? If not, we can assume that stick is good and the error might be a problem with a stick of RAM.
Rinse and repeat for all the RAM sticks until you discover: a) which stick is bad or b) the problem is not bad memory.
