Blue Screen of Death

Hi there,

I keep facing the blue screen of death after gaming for like an hour or so. I was wonder if there's any solution to this problem.
could high temperatures of the gpu and core cause this??

The BSOD was a 0xD1, almost always caused by a bad driver, in this case, it looks like the dump analysis 'blames' HID (Human Interface Device), this is likely to be USB mouse/keyboard or related drivers.

I see a lot of very old drivers listed, visit http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ and update all drivers there for your machine, use the Intel Driver Update utility first (left side of the banner).

Hey there thank you very much so i should be looking at the highlighted ones ????? I was wonder would sp2 slow down my computer??
I basically clicked on the link you kindly added for me and try to update them??

SP2 shouldn't slow down your PC but it will make it more secure and less buggy.

Update the Intel drivers and remove Norton first: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_Removal_Tool_d4749.html (install MSE instead, at least during the testing and updating period - it's much less likely to interfere).

Then work your way down whatever's left in the driver list that is older than 2008/9, the links provided will give some clues and, hopefully, driver/support links.

 

Hey satrow i did what you advised me to do and along the way i installed Intel Rst through the links you provided and not i think its messed up and i can't uninstalled it. It kepts stating Intel RSt services is not running.:cry

 

I keep trying to uninstall it but i can;t it kept stating that my system does not meet the requirement and when i tried through the remove/add program feature in the control panel it failed and removed my uninstall folder.:cry

 

Hey i managed to get it back running the intel RST so i guess i won't be needing to uninstall it?? However I was wondering if i could actually still update the driver iaStor.sys to a later version using softwares like drivermax??

Would using a software such as drivermax be safe in upgrading my drivers??

 

I don't trust 3rd party software to decide on the correct driver for a piece of hardware, the best way is research; study the hardware, check the Properties in Device Manager, check with the maker, the chipset vendor, cross-reference with the DRT.

I'm not convinced the RST drivers are best matched for the PM45 Express chipset your laptop has but the Intel download site is playing hard to get for me tonight.
