Blue screen?

Ack, sorry if I missed procedure; I'm all over the place and panicked as I've got papers due. Please correct me or tell me the proper procedure.

I think I downloaded something bad, but I'm not sure. Shortly after I downloaded some mp3, I had a screen pop up about error reporting to Microsoft and I accidentally hit the X when I tried dragging it over :(

I got a blue screen before my desktop computer restarted. It was acting up on me when I tried opening up my AVG antivirus... couldn't get a scan going for long. Also rebooted on me when I tried Crap Cleaner. I've tried safe mode too, but it was rebooting whenever I tried AVG. It's mellowed out a bit now so I can sort of try looking through some of my folders, but I can't use my Firefox for long periods, nor can I use AVG for more than a few minutes.

Uh... I ran WinDbg. Copied and pasted to the 4 .txt files. Did I do it correctly?

Ack, sorry to double post, but I was wondering if this would be of any help:

just by seeing the first, that says it's probably caused by ntfs.sys, i would suspect a hard drive problem. and getting blue screens, and random errors is a good indication of hard drive issues or RAM issus. You should try and back up anything important before doing anything else. and after, you want to do a drive scan or S.M.A.R.T. test on your disk. IF you know the manufacturer of the drive, you want to download the appropriate software for it located here. IF you aren't sure, HDTune is good. However, since you are having issues while in windows, you might want a DOS version instead. Ultimate boot cd contains alot of dos based disk utilities and all you need to do is download the software, and burn it to a cd, and then boot from it.
After you have confirmed that the health of the drive is ok, you will probably have to follow the malware removal steps found here, to check for malware.

Hm... I ran HDTune, and it said ok under the health section. Tried doing a scan, but I blue screened again; quick scan worked, but didn't show anything off?

I've been trying to follow the malware removal steps as best I can, but I keep running into problems:

    - SUPERAntiSpyware could never finish a scan; it either had to shut down and send and error report or the computer would freeze and be completely unresponsive.

    - I got one working run for Malwarebytes; it removed one infected item. I think it was something listed as Hijackdisplay or something.

    - I have yet to get MGtools to work without a blue screen conveniently popping up.

Where should I go from here?

do you have access to a vista setup disk? if so, you can try booting into vista recovery environment, and select command prompt. then run the command sfc /scannow
but i actually thing it's a hardware issue, and you should try and do a non-windows hard disk scan

Eh... the only disks I have are the ones that I burned. I think they're system recovery under HP Total Care. I went to the hardware diagnostic tools; I ran the test for the hard drive, and it passed each of the tests (SMART Status, SMART Short Self, and a few other tests).

I tried the CPU and Memory test... what didn't pass:

    - CPU: Multicore Test (Warning)

    - Memory: Walking One Left Test (Failed)
    - Memory: Walking One Right Test (Failed)
    - Memory: Advanced Pattern Test (Failed)

Couldn't conduct the last 2 before I blue screened again.
