Posting the message and first alphanumeic string you see on the BSOD would help.

Is the computer automatically restarting in a short period — so short you can't write down the Stop error code?

    Upload any minidumps from c:\windows\minidump

Also right click on "My Computer", select Properties. Click settings under "Startup and Recovery".

Do you have "Automatically restart" checked? If so, uncheck, and give us the error you are getting.

I've attached a bit of help, just ignore the fact I'm running windows 8.1, should still be similar.

    Hello,

and thanks for the replys. Ive tried to get the blue screen by logging out and shutting down computer to no avail, so posting the message may be impossible for now. I know im not so fortunate to have had the problem just " go away". Is there a file or any evidence of BSOD that I can access and present here.

    Thank you...Greg

When I try and upload minidump I get invalid file and can upload. Auto restart is not enabled either.

You have to right click the minidump file and select Send to Compressed (zipped) folder then upload the zip file. Some people have Windbg installed and they'll be able to read the crash dump.

It appears that it is a bad driver for an ATI (AMD) graphics card.

Please download: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/gpu_z.html and install and either screenshot the results, or post the Name of your card. For example, I've attached what shows on mine.

    Code:
    Mini091113-01.dmp 9/11/2013 8:02:56 PM PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 0x10000050 0xf501906f 0x00000000 0xb9bab2c0 0x00000002 ati2mtag.sys ati2mtag.sys+1002c0 32-bit ati2mtag.sys+1002c0 Mini091113-01\Mini091113-01.dmp 2 15 2600 90,112 10/9/2014 8:48:50 PM
