I'm an over the road (OTR) truck driver. Owner /Operator type. An olde dinosaur, I'm not very computer literate but I'm learning (slowly). I use the computer to help run my business. Currently I've got this BlueLithium problem. Norton/Symantec
claims to be unable to help. I dont do blogs and know very little how to use them. A friend suggested this site. Anyone out there have any ideas how to deal with this BlueLithium thing??? thanx, OTR_driver

Welcome to MG's. Could you explain a little more about what this bluelithium thing is? Is it malware? A program you are using?

If malware, please do the below and then when you have the requested logs, start a thread in the malware forum and attach the logs:

When I log onto yahoo email, as soon as I select a message to read/respond too, I get a blank screen The toolbar then says www.bluelithium.com If I refresh the screen the toolbar then says www.ad.yieldmanager.com This happens every time I try to use email. Norton/Symantec says its a yahoo thing and they cant do squat aout it. I've googled bluelithium and went to this optout.html but that didnt help either. Any ideas for an out-of-date- trucker???

    Welcome to Majorgeeks, OTR_driver.

Some background info on this can be found here.

*The cure may be as easy as to use a pop-up blocker plugin for your browser. Please post in our Software Forum for more assistance installing and setting one up. Otherwise follow-up with TimW's link for a thorough check for malware.

When I log on to yahoo mail all goes fine until I open something. The screen goes blank and says "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage". There is a small globe with a red "X" on it. The toolbar will say www.bluelithium.com
If I refresh the page, the toolbar will say ad.yieldmanager.com I went to a dite that says bluelithium.com/optout.html and clicked "All" but I still have the same problem. I followed TimW steps but didnt seem to help. Read the tutorials .... Any ideas??? The Norton/Symantec people said it was a yahoo thing. I contacted them and downloaded their "Toolbar" which Yahoo said might help.... Never had this trouble before. cheers, Roadie

Did you install a pop-up blocker? ADBlocker.

If you still need our assistance, please attach the requested logs from running the Read and Run First instructions.
