bluetooth problem

If this in the wrong place it's little wonder I need help.

Had a major problem with malware that appears to be sorted.

But afterwards my bluetooth mouse wasn't working, so I went to look at my bluetooth icon and saw the following.

Explore my bluetooth places(greyed)
Bluetooth setup wizard(greyed)
Advanced Configuration(bold, but unsure of what to do from there)
Quick connect(greyed)
Bluetooth device not found(bold)

Activated my phone's bluetooth too to see if it was the mouse, but hat doesn't connect either.

Please could someone give me layman's advice

Notebook is a compaq.

PS My wireless internet connection is fine.

Can anyone give me some advice? If it needs to be taken to someone, no problem. But I'm adverse to getting ripped off for a simple 'flick of a switch' answer.
