I have a Macbook Pro (2011) and I just got a Dell Inspiron 11 3000.

I managed to pair them but I can only send files from my Dell to my Mac. I can't sent files from my Mac to the Dell because it says it can't connect.

Is this because of two different OS's or am I doing something wrong?

Yes. It is not straightforward. If you didn't Google how to share files between Mac and Windows before, you now need to do that.
