Hi there...please help my email people in their wisdom have decided to suspend my BLUEYONDER email account. Not being too clued up on this I assumed that once you had an email address it was yours for life! I have been using the ..blueyonder email address for years..now I have been told that I have lost the right to use it...consequently my outlook express will not recognise my login details..including email and password ...From experience looking through this site I know there is someone here who can help me..I have had no emails now for almost a week and cannot use this means of communication with my family. I use windows xp media edition with sp2...PLEASE HELP!!

Did they give you a reason for suspending your email account?

Why not just set up a new one. yahoo/hotmail/Gmail for example.

    Hi

Are you still with Blueyonder or more so Virgin Broadband as your ISP? if not then some ISPs after a specific (unknown) lenght of time, cancel your old email account, would have needed to migrate to a new one before loosing all contact via email.

Try the webmail option to rule out some other issue with your PC https://webmail.blueyonder.co.uk/ that could be blocking your connection to the account.

If still with Virgin then you need as mentioned to call them up and find out why it was stopped and if they migrated you to a Virgin email address.

As you still have all your contacts in Outlook Express still, you can as mentioned setup a Gmail email account, its free and here are the settings to make it work with Outlook Express ( although you can logon online ) http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13276

You can also use Hotmail but this now will not work in Outlook Express freely, need a premium account, however you can access Hotmail and other email services via Windows Live Mail which is also free.

I personally find that a spare email account is a good option in case of a service going down for a while, you can use your alternate, just need to let all your contacts know that this is your new email address so they dont block it as spam, in not knowing you have changed email provider.

thanks to all who answered my plea...I got it sorted and opened up a new hotmail email account.
Apparantly the Blueyonder account was scrapped albeit after a long few years, as I no longer use Telewest..who let me use the Blueyonder address. Just a pity they did not give any notice..would not have lost nearly a weeks emailss...again thank you..
