BMW 528e

aloha everybody. long time no 'see'. my car wont start!! anybody know anything about BMW's??? or a help site ??? i'm desperate. mahalo laurie

 

what does it say on the dashboard? any lights that stay lit?
you might need to recharge your battery, which isn't much of a problem, different car, jumper cables, connecting, and done, you'll need to make a longish trip with your car to let it recharge the battery afterwards though.

 

it was starting intermittently. we have changed the spark plugs, rotor and cap (which was well worn), ignition coil, didn't make any difference. we then took it to a mechanic who charges a fortune and who told us the first thing he would try was to change the throttle switch which often fills with oil. so did that (the old one was indeed filled with oil) but that didn't do it either. once started she goes like a dream. the engine tuns. just doesn't start. we even swapped computers but that didn't help either. hubby is good with cars but is stumped.

thanks , went to the site, found something hubby can try next. couldn't find a way to subscribe to the forum and ask for detailed advice though. this is the 'needle in the haystack' thing isn't it. worse than computers!!! wouldn't be so bad if a) i had any money!!! and b) my sons school wasn't 30mls away, and the nearest shopping center 50mls, etc.! anyway thanks again and ALL help will be appreciated. much aloha

 

just to let you know that hubby fiddled with it a bit more and now its magically working. fingers crossed its 'cured'. thanks guys
