My DVD/CD driver makes a loud clicking noise when I boot up. In fact the system takes forever to open if the DVD/CD is closed but opens and runs very
fast if I open the tray before starting the boot up. I am running a VISTA HP and have installed all of the current update's but I can't seem to get any driver update's to download. If I need to supply more info , please , tell me what and I'll return the info next time around. I can play any DVD/CD but I can't record to CD .

LOL @ thread title, whatever it means.:confused Try going into BIOS and making the CD/DVD the second boot device after your hard disk drive(s). Then the machine won't waste time looking for a disk(that's what all the noise is).
