BOO/Sinowal.e please help me too!

    I have come across this virus/malware! I read the post form zemba and have done all that was asked to clean up my computer and save the logs. Please Help! Thank you!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Please run this Using Dr.Web CureIt and attach the requested log. Ignore the fact that it may indicate some files from MGtools and ComboFix as problems. Dr.Web CureIt does have lots of false detection problems but it does provide some useful features.

    Also uninstall Viewpoint Media Player as requested in step 1 of the READ & RUN ME

    I have tried running this program many times and get an error message about 2/3 of the way through the complete scan. A windows screen pops up and requires me to to debug the program, which shuts it down and leaves me to start again. Attached is the file associated with this error.

    You need to boot to the Recovery Console and run the fixmbr to clear a Master Boot Record infection that you have.

    You can read the below to help you do this:

    The boot back into normal mode.


    Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

    Run MGtools.exe ( Note: If using Vista make sure UAC is still disabled. Also don't double click on it, use right click and select Run As Administrator )


    Now attach the below log:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
