Bookmarks in Opera problem

Hi, I am transferring over files from my old laptop to a newer old laptop. I use Opera 9 and I saved what I thought was my bookmarks to a file on my desktop. Then I emailed it to myself and downloaded it to the other laptop. When I went to import the file nothing happened. No bookmarks appeared. Now if I go to import explorer favorites that appears to be ok. So what is happening? How can I import my bookmarks from Opera?

I hope you can help me soon as I need to transfer everything over asap as my old laptop is ready to bite the dust.

I guess nobody knows the answer to that one. Oh well thank you all those people who viewed it, maybe they're hoping also to get an answer. I guess there's more people looking for solutions than giving them. You're doing a great job guys... we all appreciate it.

I use Opera about three times a year so my help might not be all that helpful. I'm basing what I'm sugesting on what I know works in Firefox.
1. Click Bookmarks then manage bookmaks
2. Click the floppy icon and select Export as HTML that's what I use in FF rather than selecting Export Opera bookmarks, as you might have chosen.

If nothing else, the html bookmarks can be viewe as a web page with clickable links directly from your desktop.
