I am just wondering if their are any books that explain windows xp in high detail. For example explaining the architectural design of it, and what each file is for?

I think I saw a book like that at a library, but don't remember the name. They are usually near 005 Dewey Decimal. I think they can also be shelved in another section also, beside reference. You could go there and look for XP in the title. They are probably starting to get rid of them now that Microsoft stopped supporting it, though. That's what happened to several of my favorite computer books there. I found alternate material on the Internet, though. I did a quick google and found NTFS.com, which talks about the file system. http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs-system-files.htm is a table of hidden system files.
    Also, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&newwindow=1&q=xp+system+architecture&btnG=Search
