Boot CD not recognizing HD

Let me preface by saying not sure if this should be in Hardware or Drivers, but here goes.

I've been building boot cd's for use with multiple different Hardware configs, and been very successful using Barts PE. Using them for data recovery, Malware removal, etc... Just started using them for imaging using ghost but I have run into a snag. I have an HP nc6400 laptop. For some reason the Boot CD won't recognize the HD. None of the boot devices can recognize the HD. Even using the standard ghost boot disks (which is proving to be very un-user friendly) I can't recognize the HD. Here's the kicker, if I boot it up normally its fine. Boots into XP and I have no problems. Searched all over but couldn't find anyone experiencing the same problem as me. Any ideas ???

Try dissabling the NATAVE SATA option on Device Configurations in the Bios..

 

Yes, you can change BIOS to a legacy ATA mode or find a SATA driver to use. Just like when XP is installing it will tell you toward the beginning of "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver"
at that point you'll need a floppy. the other thing is you can slipstream the drivers in the OS disk, then make the Bart PE.

Side note changing some SATA settings may cause the system not to boot from the hdd again, usually it will bluescreen. You'll have to change them back. Just from experience.
