    Hello,

Anyone want to help or refer me to a post where this has been solved?

I have a nice blue box in the center of my screen that reads:

    Boot device not found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk.

    Hard Disk - (3F0)

I can key f2 and run a hard drive check and that passes. The computer is trying to boot but it is as if it cannot find the file it needs to be able to boot. I appreciate any help and am happy to provide any more details that will be helpful.

Might try the boot selection in BIOS and see if you can select the drive. Any more help, really need to know the computer make & model and any relevant history...can you get in the BIOS, is the date & time correct?

I can get into the BIOS by pressing the escape key during the startup. The BIOS date is correct , the time is off by two hours.

I can change the boot order, but doesn't change anything. After leaving the BIOS menu it continues to startup and says "Start PXE over IPv4." It fails then says, "Start PXE over IPv6." It fails and goes back to the blue screen.

The computer is an HP Envy 23 All-in One. Intel Core i-7 Processor with a Seagate 2 TB BarraCuda SATA HD running Windows 10. Will do my best to get other necessary info. Can send photos too.

PXE means it is looking to boot from a network device and not anything internal on the computer.

    Have you done this?

Did you try to get to the boot selection and select the drive to boot from or just set it in the BIOS?

You might try fixing the boot files by downloading a Win 10 ISO and making a bootable USB key (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10). Download the tool and create a USB key to boot from, then boot the USB and try the boot repair options.

I have not. I've been trying to figure out why the operating system is not there. It was in the morning and was not in the afternoon :)

I am typing to you now from the original computer. I downloaded the tool to a USB drive and followed the instructions. Everything appears to be normal.

I wonder why this went into an error and wouldn't start?

    Thanks for your assistance.

If computers worked right every time, a lot of us would be without a job. ;)
