Boot Menu Screen Looping

Hi,

My son's computer running XP crashed and now goes to the boot menu screen when I try to restart. Regardless of which option I choose, safe mode, last know good confguration, nomal start up, etc. it runs for a few seconds then loops back to the boot menu.

Does anyone know how to fix this and what is causing it?

I have downloaded the latest version of Trinity Rescue Kit (3.3) burned it to a boot up CD and run the virus scan. It took many hours and found nothing. I am not sure how to do a boot repair or any other checks with the Trinity disk.

Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated.
