    Hi everyone.

I recently found a computer with only the mother board and power supply in it. I liked the motherboard so decided to take the parts from my old computer and attach them to the one i found. I have never built a computer before, so i could easily have made a mistake. I attached my processor and some ram then connected the drives. The computer starts then it gets to the screen which gives you a summary of how much ram you have etc. And i get a cmos chechsum error, and it gives me the option of pressing f1 to continue or another key to enter the bios, which ever one i choose i get this message:

PXE-E05: The LAN adapter's configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. The Boot Agent cannot continue.

So the computer wont boot and so far ive been unable to enter the bios. Any ideas? Thanks.

You can try resetting the Bios, by lifting thr jumper of , for a few minutes, and then replacing it - on some motherboards, you need to move the jumpers from its current position, and put it on the next two (from 1 & 2, to 2 & 3), then replace it.
Or, clear cmos, by removing the motherboard battery, for a short time, and replacing.
    Then retry.

Check the boot order in the BIOS. The first post above tells me that the MB is trying to boot to the network, and not the hard drive, or is not seeing the hard drive correctly. If you 'found' this motherboard, there's a real good chance that someone 'lost' it (meaning threw it away) for a reason. Like I always say: free computer parts can end up being the most expensive. But then again, I also always say: He who stands on toilet is high on pot. ;) So my sayings may not hold much truth...

I agree that the motherboard was , most likely discarded, far that reason, and I offered the jumper, and battery option so early , to give you the chance to find out.
If you have not tried them, you have nothing to lose.
