anyone know configure.sys and autoexec.bat syntax to

    • boot dos from a cd {win98}< can do in nero>
      create a ram drive < config.sys>
Load dos to the ram drive from the cd
to run XCOPY to recover files from the hard drive.

I dont seem to understand the entire concept of the creation of the ram drive. loading into high memory and then running the dos os from there as well as asignment of drive letters for both the flash drive which would be nessesary to xcopy the folders to.

Ive done some research but still cant grasp the accessing the ram drive and loading dos(command.com ) to it?

    an outline ?

It sounds like what you're looking for already exists.

It includes a few data recovery tools, as well as any kind of diagnostic you can think of. It also has FreeDOS that you can boot to.

In addition, you can customize it with anything you'd like, such as drivers specific to your computer and other commercial software.
