It's installed but I don't know how to find it to uninstall.

Look in Add or Remove Programs n the Control Panel. If it's not there don't worry about it.

There's a Windows Installer Clean Up. Is this the one to remove? Nothing else with "installer" name. You say don't worry about it if it's not there. How can I install the new without uninstalling the old?

Windows Installer Clean Up is a different tool. Just go ahead and install the Windows Installer.

I guess I wasn't clear. Error message says "the specified service already exists".

OK don't install Windows Installer. Go to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel locate Microsoft Word 2000 or Microsoft Office 2000 which ever one is there click-on Change/Remove button, select Repair. If that fails uninstall the reinstall the application.

Good morning Dude, I seem to be having trouble again accessing my BellSouth home page. It is extremely slow getting there, but more often than not, it takes me to Google with IE in the search box. VB6 is installed. I do have Firefox installed.

Try with Firefox, see if it has a problem getting to the Bellsouth Home page. Also post a new HJT log as an attachment, make sure you click-on the Upload button before you click-on Sumbit Reply.

I cannot get to BellSouth home page thru Firefox. All of a sudden I'm getting to BS home page as normal. I don't get it. I'll try sending the log again.

OK, I'm troubled by this entry in you HJT log.

    O15 - Trusted IP range: 206.161.125.149

Go to the Spyware Specific Forum

Start a thread there, and reference this thread in your post.

It appears you still have something lingering from your earlier spyware problem. Looks like either Aurora or Winfixer.

Be patient it could take a few hours before someone gets back to you; bjgarrick, Chaslang, D3m3nt3d, or PhillePhan will help you sort this out.

Also you no longer use AOLDSL as your ISP but you have these two lines in your HJT log that are associated with AOL:

    O16 - DPF: {4A3CF76B-EC7A-405D-A67D-8DC6B52AB35B} -
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\VxD\MSTCP: NameServer = 205.152.80.252,205.152.37.254

You should have HJT fix this line:

    O16 - DPF: {22A88341-AFCB-45F0-A856-C2BAE74F878E} -

Re HJT log, I see 016 - DPF is back. I know for sure I deleted it.

I was unable to delete 015 - trusted range. I tried twice but it came right back. As you suggested, I started a thread on Spyware Forum.

To cover all bases, I'm posting this in each of the threads you guys are working in:

Run IE, select Tools, Internet Options. Now select Security and then click the Trusted Sites circle. Then click the Sites button. Look for the 206.161.125.149 address in the Web sites box and select it. Then click Remove. Then at the bottom make sure there is a check mark in the box that says Require server verification...... blah blah. Now click OK. And OK again.

A big thanks to you, Dude, for getting me thru to Chas. I followed his directions except there was no box at the bottom indicating "require server notification" for checking. However, the item is gone from my HJT log, so I guess I'm okay.
Regarding 017 - HKLM, etc., that u suggest deleting, that is the one that prevented me from internet access when deleted. Do u still want me to try to delete it? Interestingly, there was another 017 item that has disappeared on its own. AS for 016 - DPF, that u suggest be deleted, I did just that and it came back on its own while actually being gone for a while. Anyway, I'll try to remove it again.
Oh, one last thing that I've asked Chas about. Attune is in my registry and has been for some time (years). In reading here, I see that it is a mild spyware. Do you have any thoughts on this?
    Thanks again!

bjgarrick is working with on the attune issue. Leave those other 2 lines alone for now. Did you reboot after Chaslang had you fix the Trusted Zone issue. Want to see if it stays gone.

Yes, I did reboot and it is gone. You mentioned possible issues with Aurora or Winfixer. Do you still feel this way?

No, things look good. You having any other problems, other then attune?

Not that I'm aware of. Thanks again!
