Bootable Flash Drive And Poweriso

I was planning on making a bootable flash drive for Windows 10 with PowerISO. But, the thing that I'm wondering is-- When I mount the .iso file will that take all the space on the flash drive (it's a 16GB drive) or will it just use what it needs and I can store some other files along side it and access them like you would any other file?

 

If you simply use a USB pendrive - and TimW is right it needs 6gb of free space - you don't need to make it bootable with any software. Only DVDs require burning to make it bootable.

 

Max, I have always had to make them bootable - and used iso2usb, myself..........

 

Sorry -Using extra space for other stuff-I have used extra space , creating a folder after making it bootable, and putting files etc in the separate folder

 

If you look at Microsoft's own software download site it actually says the saved download to a USB is already bootable, and I have reinstalled multiple systems with Win 8 and 10 with a USB without any burning.

 

I was able to get it all set up and working, thank you all.

 

As MaxTurner has said, if you use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool there is no need to make the USB bootable. It's all HERE.

 

Yes, the Microsoft tool does, but Spock96 was using powerIso, which is supposed to, also, but I wonder if powerISO has a box to tick to make the usb , as iso2Usb does....
