bootable usb

    Hello, been reading all over that i can install xp via usb flash drive. My laptop has no cd/dvd drive...it's cooked! So I would like to copy the xp disk to my flash drive and for it to be bootable so I can reinstall xp home. I have gotten the hp format tool, and slightly got lost after that..Any help would be appreciated :)
