I have a Gateway computer and it is running XP. I have been having problems with the computer rebooting itself for a while. Last week it just cut off and did not reboot. It did this 2 times, so I thought it was the processor getting to hot and that was causing the problem. I cleaned out the fan and the dust off the processor and inside the case and it worked fine. Today I decided to clean it out better and after finishing I tried to boot it and it will not boot at all. The screen only shows:

    Boot Menu F10
    Bios Setting F2

When either key is pressed nothing happens.
Just wondering if you have any ideas as to the problem.

    Thanks

Something probably got unplugged or disconnected while you were cleaning. Unplug the main power cord (the one that runs to your wall outlet). Open the case and check all your cables: data cables and power cables. Check all your PCI cards and memory sticks too; be sure they're seated firmly and completely in their respective slots, the video card too. Check the BIOS (press F2 at the prompt) and make sure the PC is "seeing" your components correctly; hard drive(s), CD/DVD drives, etc. Let us know how things go...
