Bootloader

Okay, so ive just upgraded my Mandrake to 9.1 and installed a new bootloader with it, GRUB, but unfortunatley, now when i start up all i get is "GRUB" and there it stops.

So, i think to myself, I need to install a new bootloader. Anyone point me to one and tell me some tips on installing it? I hope they detect the installed OSes because i havnt a clue what the boot stings for any of them are!

ahh, forget it i just installed GAG and its pretty enough and i managed to get it up to boot windows and Linux easy enough...

 

GAG pwnz I love it, the only problem I have with it is to get it to boot Slackware I need to install LILO to the root of the partition (not MBR...). Not really a big problem just annoying....

i dont run slackware, so im pretty happy!

only thing i dont like about it so much is the linux logo has some yellow crap around it i imagine it would be too hard to try and make my own graphics for it...

 

For the boot loader you mean? I don't really care how it looks, it is a bit "crude" and I do say crude very gently, but I only see it for like 10 seconds so it's not much of matter to me...

 

yeah same just thats the only thing that I really noticed while setting it up. Twas a lot easier than i expected,. just add OS, oh looks its found windows for me AND linux too.. cool!

Well it does look a hell of a lot better than lilo did...

 

Yeah, GAG looks like god damn da vinci compared to LILO And it supports alot of languages/keyboard arrangments so it's evenbetter

 

though im not sure exactly what bable is.... :S
