Borderless photos not borderless?

k, I have an HP Deskjet 5650, and I bought some HP Advanced photo paper 4x6 (with tear-off tab), and no matter what combinations I try, i cant get it to print borderless without it printing on the tab.

It either prints with borders, or without borders but on the tab. When i tear it off, i lose a good 1/2" of the right side of the pic, making it look off-center.

Any idea what settings to use?

Have you tried adjusting the page settings? Should be in the properties of the printer. I bet you can adjust the magins so that it won't print on the tab!

 

Tried it, still prints on the tab.

 

And the printer knows what media type you're using?

 

It knows im using 4X6 with the tab, i contacted HP tech support, and everything theyve suggested hasnt worked.


This issue gives rise to a whole new question: What the hell are the tear-off tabs for anyway?

 

Hmm, I think i found the problem.

According to HP Image Editor, my images measure 4.5" by 6". So when the comp tries to print, it zooms in on the image, and cuts off the rest, to make it 4", but that somehow makes it print 4" by 6.5".

Im guessing i have to trim every image, so that it is 4" by 6" EXACTLY... sounds fun.
