Alright guys, I bought a pc for home use. Mainly internet and general home use. I want to clean it up ( the free stuff ect ) of the junk that is on it when you first start it up.

I'm going to download my malware programs and virus program. But what about something to clean it up? or maybe a guide that can help me clean it up. I'm going to run CCleaner too.

    Thanks!;)

Hey HECK, if you wanted to get really serious on stripping unwanted junk, you could try nLite http://majorgeeks.com/nLite_d4324.html
It lets you strip out pretty much anything you want from windows and create an "automated" install disc and slipstream drivers, programs or pretty much anything really.

Ther is a similar program that lets you strip parts out of an existing install but i cant remember what it is called right now, and i dont thnk it is as thourough as nLite.

It can be quite cool making your own chopped up windows, but be prepared to create a few coasters, as it is easy to get carried away and remove something important and end up with a disc that never loads :(

Haha thanks but no thanks. Like you said I would most likely lean towards me getting carried away. hah

Probably a good idea to create the OS restore CD/DVD's from the PC makers software now too :) (if the machine wasn't supplied with them).
