Brand New Dell- Touchpad Doesnt Work

which makes it impossible to use the computer without a USB mouse, and the USB mouse I have the USB port in the new computer seems slightly smaller than the USB mouse that goes into the USB so worried it will damage it.

How do I get the toughpad to start working. I will get a new USB mouse soon, but want to be able to start migrating from old laptop to new so I want to use the touchpad to be able to start installing progrms, norton, steam, itunes, moving music over, etc..

 

Then return it! Stop messing with it before something happens and you void the warranty!

 

how do I "return it" it came straight from Dell, and I contacted support and of course they are closed on weekends, so nothing and nowhere to return it to....

 

Then you wait until Monday!

Sounds like the new laptop has USB C, as does my new laptop but without knowing which model I would suspect the laptop has both USB C and original USB ports. Anyway, do not try forcing it as it would be damaged.

 

Often there’s a corner of the touchpad which when long pressed will disable/enable the touchpad.
Did the laptop come with a manual? If not then what’s the full model number?
